Mixed-age interactions among young children offer a variety of developmental benefits. Providers must consider the age range, the proportion of older to younger children, and the curriculum and teaching strategies that will maximize the educational benefits for the group. This workshop explores the benefits and challenges of working with a mixed age group. Strategies such as allowing the older students to lead and give everyone a chance to participate will be discussed.
